Mary Harris
Line dancing Instructor
Hi, my name is Mary Harris. I've lived in Vienna since 2000, but I've lived in Southern Illinois all
my life. I have line danced since the early 80's! I love being active whether outside or inside
and dance is one of those activities that you can do all year long. Currently, I go to dances 3 or
4 times a week. During my high school days, I won a Dance-a-Thon for being the person who
danced for the longest period and was the last person on my feet dancing.
Some of the dances that will be taught in line-dance class will be Electric Slide, Cowboy Hustle,
Mustang Sally, Tush Push, Gin and Tonic, Cowboy Charleston and Catfish, just to name a few.
For dance lessons, you will want to wear something comfortable to dance in and shoes are very
important. For shoes, you can wear boots, but really any kind of hard sole shoes will work. Flip
flops and tennis shoes are hard to dance in, because they don’t slide well. Bring a water bottle
and a small towel, if you want. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone!
